Welcome to the Solent Area Website.
Hi, welcome to the Solent Area! We roughly cover anyone with a PO or SO postcode, but we welcome anyone from wherever you are, and regularly have people coming from as far afield as Andover, Salisbury, the New Forest and Bognor Regis.
The area is run by Helen and Chris. Helen owns the MX-5, a true red Mk3 (2.0i Sport). We have a broad mix of cars who attend, about a 40/40 mix of Mk1's and Mk2's, and a rapidly rising number of Mk3's. Not to mention the occasional family car from members who need the space. All are welcome!
The Solent Area generally meets twice a month for an evening event and a weekend drive.
The evening events happen every month, on the third Wednesday. In the summer we go for a drive around the countryside in convoy, and in the winter we normally go to the pub for drinks, quizzes, skittles or just a chat.
At the weekends, we have a more varied array of events. In 2008 we attended the Spring National, the Goodwood Breakfast Club (Soft-top Sunday and Sushi Sunday) and had a beach BBQ, amongst other events. It's best to keep a close eye on this website to find out exactly what we are doing and when.
We have a number of regular meeting points for events. They are;
- The Milbury's pub in Beauworth. This is our regular evening base.
- Winchester Tescos's. We meet in the car park nearest the entrance roundabout.
- Hedge End Sainsbury's. We meet in the car park nearest the petrol station.
